Appendix B. Commands for Backup and Recovery

In addition to a graphical user interface, NetWorker has backup and recover commands similar to IRIX commands. These commands are entered from an IRIX shell. To use the NetWorker commands from an IRIX shell, the NetWorker software must be installed on the NetWorker server, and your system must be configured as a NetWorker client by the system administrator.

Use the save command to back up data:

# save -s server pathname

Use the recover command to recover data:

# recover -s server -c client pathname

In addition, the Recover program provides an interface that allows you to browse files and control your recoveries. When you enter the recover command, the NetWorker prompt appears. You can use the commands listed in Table B-1.
