This guide describes the CosmoTM Code development environment, a graphical, interactive, software engineering tool designed for programmers who develop and maintain JavaTM libraries and applications.

This guide assumes that you're familiar with the the Java programming language.

Conventions

Below are the typographical and graphic conventions used in this guide:

  • Bold—Functions, option flags, and classes.

  • Italics—Filenames, button names, field names, variables, emphasis, glossary terms, and IRIX commands.

  • Regular—Menu and window names, data types, keywords, and text.

  • “Quoted”—Menu choices.

  • Fixed-width—Code examples and command syntax.

  • Bold fixed-width—User input. Nonprinting <keys> are bracketed.
