This revision contains the following new information:
Changes to the FailSafe graphical user interface (GUI):
New login connection choices, including support for a remote shell connection, which connects to the server via a user-specified command shell, such as rsh(1C) or ssh(1). See “Starting the GUI” in Chapter 4.
The ability for the root user to grant other users permission to execute specific GUI tasks. See:
Use of Java2 for the FailSafe GUI, which simplifies the Java installation and co-operation with third-party GUIs. This also enhances the ability to run the GUI through a web browser (via http://server/FailSafeManager/). See “Install Software” in Chapter 3.
Information about using the right mouse button to access tasks appropriate to the selected GUI item. See “Performing Tasks” in Chapter 4.
A new attribute to the filesystem resource type allows you to specify whether or not the nfsd(1M) daemon will be stopped before unmounting the filesystem and then restarted after the unmount is complete. See “filesystem Attributes” in Chapter 5, and Table 5-2.
References to the statd resource type have been replaced by statd_unlimited. There could be only two statd resource instances in a cluster; statd_unlimited resources have no such restriction.
More information about memberships, quorums, and tiebreakers; see Appendix B, “Memberships and Quorums”.
