This page lists known restrictions in this release of SGImeeting, and
other important information. It is grouped into the following sections.
-
Highlighter colors may not match those shown by other systems. This is
because the way the colors are combined is dependent on the systems'
display types. This will be improved in future versions by allowing
whiteboard to run with a private colormap (as described in the General
section, above).
-
The importing and exporting of images has not been fully tested with
all the supported formats. If you discover an image that the Whiteboard
does not read, or find that an exported image is incorrect, please file
a bug: From the SGImeeting Help menu, choose Feedback.
-
Since SGImeeting makes use of the system colormap, running SGImeeting
at the same time as other color-intensive applications can result in
sub-optimal output in the Whiteboard. Future versions will include
options to use a private colormap in this case. Until this feature is
available, the problem can be can be alleviated by
-
running your system in a TrueColor (24 bit color depth) visual
-
closing the other applications
-
configuring the other applications to use a private colormap or a
non-default visual (where your workstation supports multiple visuals);
in particular, you can do this with Netscape
by starting it with the options "-install" or "-visual
<id-or-number>".
-
It is recommended that you run your window manager in click-to-type
mode (rather than point-to-type) when using application sharing. This
makes cross-platform application sharing more consistent, since Windows
always runs in this mode (and hence, applications shared by NetMeeting
will exhibit this behavior).
-
Problems may be encountered when logging onto and querying some public
ILS directory servers, which can get very congested (NetMeeting
experiences similar problems). If this occurs, try using a different
ILS server.
