Text:The Oracle Parallel Server(tm) (OPS) system clusters two CHALLENGE(R) or Origin(tm) servers and coordinates their access to a single shared Oracle database. Besides these servers, the OPS system includes a CHALLENGE RAID storage system and optional Vault storage systems for each server. An Indy(R), Indigo(R), Indigo2(tm), or O2(tm) workstation with IRISconsole(tm) software is used to control the OPS hosts. This guide is written for the person who administers the OPS system. It describes system capabilities and explains how system components work together, how to configure and start the OPS system software, and how to halt the OPS system.
